About

Built by engineers,
for engineers.

Squidtronic started as an adapter shop. We made breakouts so we could prototype with modern surface-mount ICs. People started buying them. Then they started asking us to do the soldering. Now we do both.

// What we do

Two product lines, one shop floor.

Services first. BGA rework, SMT assembly, hand soldering, IC reballing, prototype build, repair, plus PCB and schematic design. The bulk of what we do every day.

Components second. 260+ PCB adapters in 17 package families — the same boards we use in-house when we're prototyping for ourselves or evaluating an IC for a customer. We sell them because they're useful, not because they're our main business.

Same engineers route the adapters and rework the BGAs. The reason a customer's prototype build comes back clean is the same reason our adapters look the way they do: somebody who knows what they're doing was paying attention.

// How we work

Boring promises, kept.

Same-day quotes

If you submit a quote during business hours, you'll hear back the same day. If we can't quote it (out of scope, missing info), you'll hear back the same day anyway.

Fixed-price, not hourly

Every quote is a number, not an estimate. If we find a deeper problem mid-job, we stop and email you before doing more work.

Files stay confidential

Gerbers, BOMs, and schematics are used only for your quote and the work itself, then deleted within 90 days. NDAs available on request.

Photos on every job

BGA rework comes with X-ray images. Assemblies come with build photos. Repairs come with before/after shots. So you can see what we did, not just trust we did it.

// Who we serve

Hardware engineers and the people next to them.

Startups

From single prototypes to production runs. We won't make you sign a 100-board MOQ to get our attention.

R&D labs

BGA rework, IC reballing, repair work that bigger CMs won't touch. Quick turnaround when an experiment is on the line.

Repair shops

If you need a partner for the BGA work you don't have a station for, you're in the right place.

Hobbyists & educators

The adapter catalog is for you. Affordable, in stock, and works on the breadboard you have.

// Where we are

Austin, Texas.

One shop, real engineers, real benches. Drop us a line if you want to talk through a project before you submit a quote, or come by to see the bench (by appointment).
